COLLEGE OF MEDICINE Newsroom
Message from the Dean
I am so pleased to share with you the wonderful news that Dr. Peter Van Dorsten was awarded the Order of the Palmetto earlier this week. This prestigious award is the highest civilian honor in the State of South Carolina and recognizes a person’s lifetime achievements and his contributions to the state. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Van Dorsten on this well-deserved recognition of his excellence.
Earlier this week, faculty and staff in the College of Medicine and MUSC Physicians received an email from Morehead Associates regarding access to this year’s employee satisfaction survey. Our faculty and staff are our most valuable resource, and employee satisfaction is vital to our continued success. This survey is a great opportunity to share your perceptions across a variety of key areas that affect your satisfaction, and will help us work to improve our workplace. Please take the time to participate in this survey. All survey data will be kept on a Morehead Associates server and individual survey responses will not be accessible by anyone at MUSC or MUSC Physicians. If you have any questions or concerns about the survey process, please contact Frances Glanville (College of Medicine) or Andrea Swartz (MUSC Physicians) for assistance.
As a reminder, the Provost’s Office is currently accepting nominations for the 2012 MUSC Foundation Developing Scholars Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward junior faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to the research mission of MUSC. Nominations are due June 4; more information and nomination instructions can be found at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11318946/DevelopingScholars.doc.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you via email or when I attend your departmental meetings.
With warm regards,
