
Employee Reward and Recognition Feedback from the 2010 Employee Partnership survey clearly stated that the organization needed to improve on how it rewards and recognizes its employees. Based on this information, the MUSC Excellence Reward and Recognition team recommended developing an online solution strategy. This strategy was presented and approved by the UMA/COM Excellence Steering Committee. After reviewing several reward and recognition vendors, O.C. Tanner was selected. In July 2010 the reward and recognition strategy was implemented as a pilot within UMA administrative offices, Carolina Family Care, CRC and West Ashley Multi-Specialty Care. First step of the pilot was Carrot Training for all managers/supervisors/leaders, educating them on how to create a carrot culture and effectively use Destination Excellence, the online reward and recognition tool. The second step was going live with the Destination Excellence website. Thankfully, Destination Excellence is a recognized program within our culture and we have received much positive feedback. Currently, we are looking at adding MUSC Specialty Care North and if those results are good, we will hopefully be ready to roll this tool out to all of the College of Medicine and UMA. |
