| http://www.musc.edu/com/current/yr4 (under ELECTIVES – Internship 101) OVERVIEW The goal of Internship 101 is to provide the 4th year medical student with experiences and information that will better prepare the student for the role of intern. The course includes a compendium of topics presented in a variety of formats (e.g., workshops, lectures, simulations, and clinical experiences) and has been designed to increase confidence and skill levels for the transition from student to resident. Students select from among over 40 sessions which are organized into four categories: Business/Finance, Clinical, and Non-clinical skills.

| INTERNSHIP 101 (MDCOR-626) Internship 101, a two week elective, is offered two times during the year: Course Period 1 and Course Period 2. Students who register for Internship 101 have the option of scheduling one or both course periods. Prior to registering, students are advised to view the offerings and schedules for both course periods as not all sessions are offered for both course periods. Each student must complete 30 hours of instruction during each two week period in order to earn 2.5 credit hours and a grade of “Pass”. 2012 dates Block 1: February 27 - March 9, 2012 Block 2: March 26 - April 6, 2012

| PARTICIPATING IN INTERNSHIP 101 SESSIONS – NOT ENROLLED FOR MDCOR-626 Students who have other electives/cores scheduled during the course periods and would like to attend one or more of the sessions, will be allowed to register for individual sessions 1 week after open registration. (based on availability) **NOTE: Links to view more information on Internship 101 will be updated January 2012. An email announcing catalog availability will be sent to 4th year students.** |
