Faith Brown ’18 is the first in her family to go into the medical field, a vocation she knew she wanted since middle school. Choosing pharmacy so she could have a career centered on healthcare that provided an opportunity to interact with patients on a personal level, the Conway, S.C. native is joining McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, S.C. as a resident.
She will be on a different clinical rotation throughout the hospital each month learning how to manage patients with a broad array of disease states of varying acuity. In addition to treating patients in a de-centralized pharmacy model, she will also learn the operations of the central pharmacy and how to verify prescriptions and get them to the floor appropriately.
McLeod Regional Medical Center is located in rural SC. The indigent patient population provides a unique learning experience and opportunity to care for patients acutely, as well as to treat unmanaged chronic disease states through appropriate follow-up.
