In the fall of 2010, investigators from Duke University's internationally recognized team of NIDA-funded research programs including Dr. John March and Dr. Ashwin Patkar joined MUSC in the Southern Consortium Node (SCN). Dr. March will serve as the Co-Principal Investigator and the Duke counterpart to MUSC's Dr. Kathleen Brady.
Dr. March brings a new perspective to the CTN. He has been a leader in NIMH-sponsored multi-site clinical trials in pediatric ADHD, OCD, depression and anxiety disorders. Especially relevant to the mission of the CTN, Dr. March brings exceptional expertise in the design and implementation of practical clinical trials and in personalized medicine. Dr. Patkar has more than 20 years of experience, with particular expertise in psychopharmacology, dual diagnoses, integration of medical care for addiction, and pain and addiction issues.
