Recorded Phone Message to Individuals Believed to Have Had Credit/Debit Card Information Compromised
MUSC has an important announcement for you. You have been identified as one of approximately 7000 individuals whose credit card information was compromised in a recent malicious cybersecurity intrusion involving our 3rd party credit card processor, Blackhawk Consulting Group. Information that was compromised included names, addresses, credit card numbers, credit card security numbers and email addresses. Based on information that we have received to date, health information, date of birth and social security information was NOT compromised in this intrusion.
We have taken every step necessary to address the incident and we are committed to fully protecting all the information you have entrusted to us. We are providing free credit monitoring services to the affected parties. Notifications about how to access these services will be mailed during the next week.
In the meantime, you should contact your credit card company and alert them to the fact that your credit card information may have been compromised.
