Dr. Javed received his D.M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1983. A Master of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.) was awarded in 1975 from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He earned a certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science degree (M.S.) from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1977.
Dr. Javed is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Fellow of the American College of Dentists, Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He maintains a practice limited to Periodontics within the College's Dental Faculty Practice clinic. His areas of specific interest and expertise include College of Dental Medicine administration, dental curriculum, accreditation, predoctoral student recruitment, promotion of diversity and student affairs. He actively participates in the activities of organized dentistry at the national and international level. He is a member of the ADA Council on Dental Education and Licensure and serves as a consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation. He is also a consultant to the national and international Colleges of Dentistry in relation to predoctoral curriculum review, development and accreditation.
