Dr. Krayer joined the faculty in July 2006 after 21 years in private practice in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Krayer is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Post-Doctoral Periodontics Program. Dr. Krayer received his B.S. in Chemistry and B.A. in Mathematics at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He completed his D.D.S. at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas, in 1983. Dr. Krayer completed his Residency in Periodontics in the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as well as an M.S. in Immunology and Microbiology in the College of Graduate Studies at MUSC in 1985. While engaged in his full-time private practice, Dr. Krayer taught one day per week in the Periodontics Program at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. Dr. Krayer earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology in 1989. Dr. Krayer is also involved with patient care in the Dental Faculty Practice here at MUSC.
