Dr. Leite currently serves as Professor of Orthodontics and Director of the Global Oral Health Initiatives at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Leite joined the faculty in 1997. Dr. Leite received his DMD in 1986 from the Paulista University, College of Dentistry, in Brazil. In 1990, he received an MS degree and certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He then joined the faculty at MUSC and served as an Assistant Professor and Head of Oral Radiology in the Department of Stomatology for four years. In 1997, Dr. Leite earned his certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry. He maintains a private practice in orthodontics through the Dental Faculty Practice Program at MUSC. He holds specialty degrees in both the fields of Orthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
