Dr. Marc Levitan is a 1973 graduate of the University of the Pacific Art Dugoni School of Dentistry. He completed endodontic postgraduate training at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Forsyth Research Center in 1975. Dr. Levitan then participated in 25 years of private practice before becoming a full time dental educator in 2000. Dr. Levitan is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, Charleston Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, and the American Association of Endodontists. He is a Diplomate and member of the American Board of Endodontists and American College of Diplomates. Dr. Levitan has participated on several national dental committees in officer positions, and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He serves on the scientific advisory board for the Journal of Endodontics, is Division Head of Endodontics and Director of Postgraduate Endodontics at MUSC. Special areas of interest are pain management and digital radiography. Dr. Levitan is also active in dental continuing education and participates in interdisciplinary education.
