Dr. Rampton graduated from the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1969. He completed a dental internship there in 1970, then later completed a two year General Practice Residency in 1975 at Fort Dix, New Jersey and Walson Army Hospital. He is a diplomate and past president of the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry and is also a diplomate of and past examiner for the American Board of General Dentistry. He joined the faculty at MUSC in 1996 after 26 years of service in the U.S. Army. His background there included 11 years of teaching and directing post-graduate dental education programs.
