MUSC recognizes top philanthropic supporters
Charleston, SC (November 13, 2004) -- The Medical University of South Carolina welcomed nearly 100 new members to its top three philanthropic societies during the university's Society of 1824 Donor Recognition Dinner on November 12, 2004.
The Society of 1824 is the Medical University's official philanthropic support association. The Society's top three giving categories - the Centurion Society, the Pinnacle Society and the Millennium Society - include those supporters whose cumulative giving has reached the $100,000-$499,999, $500,000-$999,999, and $1 million-plus levels, respectively.
Vice President for Development Jim Fisher thanked the new inductees not only for their financial support, but also for setting an example that helped the Medical University reach an all-time high in philanthropic support during fiscal 2004, a year when gifts and pledges totaled nearly $35 million.
"As many of you know, the past few years have been a time of great challenge for the Medical University," said Fisher, during the induction ceremony. "However, thanks to your investments and your faith in us, we have been able to hit these challenges, not like a wall, but like a springboard, to bigger and better things."
