Science and the creation of new knowledge are central to MUSC’s tri-part mission:
education of health care professionals and biomedical scientists; research in the health sciences; and provision of comprehensive health care of the highest quality. One of the classic symbols for science and discovery is the Periodic Table of Elements, depicting individual elements that combine to form new substances. With this in mind, we use the Periodic Table of Elements as a symbol to structure and report Education and Student Life’s (ESL) accomplishments and goals in this year’s annual report.
