MUSC Education & Student Life Annual Report for 2010-2011
ESL Annual Report | University Student Orientation
A new, creative and fun University-wide orientation showcased everything ESL offers and provides for students. The goal of this new format was to collaborate with the colleges to foster interprofessional relationships, create a sense of one university, and avoid redundancy with college orientations. Approximately 450 students attended University Student Orientation, after which students visited displays from various campus organizations and activities, ate lunch, and enjoyed ice cream served by the deans, who donned red aprons for the occasion.
Students who attended were asked to complete an electronic survey, and 95% of students agreed the orientation contained useful information on programs and services available to them at MUSC. We asked, “What did you find most useful?” They reported: information booths, assurance of support from the University, and the interactive game which featured facts about MUSC.
