Education and Student Life Service Line Logo Standards and Usages

ESL logo  |  Wellness Center logo

Education and Student Life has finalized guidelines on how to use the MUSC logo in conjunction with the areas related to ESL. You can find an explanation and a place to download the ESL service line logo that has been approved.

Various formats of the new ESL service line logo, located below, are available for download for use in internal and external publications, Powerpoint presentations, Word documents, etc. Simply select the file type which best suits your needs and save to your desktop, or an easily accessed location. The logos can be downloaded, at any time, by selecting the format which best suits your needs by clicking the appropriate grey button, below your selection.

As with any large institution, the MUSC logo or brand is a very important concept, and there are strict guidelines concerning it's usage. The University has a Graphic Standards Manual available online. A list of 14 Most Common Ways the MUSC logo is misused is also available.

A word about the various file formats:

  • EPS format: This format should be used by professional design softwares such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Quark, etc. This format provides clean, crisp images and can be enlarged to any size.  This format is used by professional design applications for creating high-quality magazine ads and other forms of printed advertising and materials. This format is NOT recommended for use in Microsoft Office products such as Powerpoint, Word, or Excel. These programs often do not recognize the EPS format.

  • JPEG format: This format is most often used in Microsoft Office products such as Powerpoint, Word, or Excel. This format is also the most commonly used in website creating and for usage on the web.

  • BMP format: From time to time when using a logo, the need to have a transparent background may arise. For example, the logo may need to lay over a colored background, and using the JPEG format, a white box is shown around the logo. This white box may be distracting or visually displeasing, and may call for that white box be designated as "transparent." This format may alleviate this problem, or may create a better edge when using "transparent" effects.
