College of Health Professions Introduction

Introduction
Established in 1966 as the School of Allied Health Sciences, the present College of Health Professions is the largest of the six professional colleges on the Medical University of South Carolina campus. Approximately 850 full- and part-time students enroll in baccalaureate and graduate health professional curricula each year.
Program diversity is the landmark of the college, offering entry-level programs providing opportunities in health management professions, patient treatment professions, and patient contact professions involving sophisticated cutting-edge medical technology. In addition, the college offers both on- and off-campus programs designed to prepare already credentialed health professionals for advanced clinical, or administrative roles. The college is dedicated to graduating health professionals who will not only excel in the provision of healthcare, but provide leadership in the changing healthcare environment.
