Application for the Doctor of Physical Therapy
The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is based in the College of Health Professions. Physical therapists focus primarily on the treatment of individuals who have an impairment that affects the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary (skin) systems. The Physical Therapy program at MUSC has been a leader in utilizing effective and efficient instructional methods and materials that capitalize on the advantages of instructional technology. We have established diverse clinical education sites that provide students with a broad-spectrum of clinical experiences. Physical Therapists are in high demand for their skill and experience. This is a profession filled with opportunities for growth and diversification.
Individuals admitted to the program will be selected from applicants who have or will have completed a bachelor degree with a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA prior to admission. Additional requirements can be found at http://academicdepartments.musc.edu/chp/pt/index.htm.
In addition to the application, the applicant must complete supplemental forms specific to the program to which he/she is applying. These forms are available in PDF format within the application and are also sent through email once an application is submitted. Applicants are required to submit official transcripts from each post-secondary school attended. Applicants are encouraged to monitor the submission of all transcripts, GRE scores, references, and other application materials to ensure the application is complete prior to the deadline.
