Application for the Doctor of Physical Therapy
The Doctor of Physical Therapy program (DPT) program is located within the College of Health Professions. The programs prepares individuals to examine clients with impairments that affect the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, integumentary or other body systems that cause movement dysfunction. Physical therapists then implement evidence based treatment programs that minimize these impairments, improve and restore motion, and enhance function and quality of life.
Individuals admitted to the program will be selected from applicants who have or will have completed a bachelor degree with a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application. Additional requirements can be found at http://academicdepartments.musc.edu/chp/pt/index.htm.
In addition to the application, the applicant must complete supplemental forms specific to the program to which he/she is applying. These forms are available in PDF format within the application and are also sent through email once an application is submitted. Applicants are required to submit official transcripts from each post-secondary school attended. Applicants are responsible for ensuring the submission of all transcripts, GRE scores, references, and other application materials prior to the deadline.
