Adverse Weather Plan

If the day brings adverse weather, Commencement Exercises will be held at 11:00 a.m. at The Citadel, McAlister Field House, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409.

Upon authorization by the MUSC President's office and by 6:00 a.m on Saturday, May 19th, 2018, notices of the alternate site will be placed online; Deans’ offices and Student Services staff will be notified; MUSC Broadcast messages will be utilized for a campus wide notification and area news media will be asked to make the announcement.

Graduates and Guests 

All graduates and guests are responsible for their own transportation to the McAlister Field House. Graduates will need to arrive with your regalia no later than 9:30 a.m. MUSC staff will be on hand to direct you to your line up area. Diplomas will be distributed on site immediately following the ceremony.

General Parking will be available on The Citadel campus on a first come first serve basis. Once the on campus parking is full, off campus parking will be available with MUSC shuttles running from the Johnson Hagood Stadium parking lot to the McAlister Field House.

VIP Reserved Parking will be available to all VIP guests, you will need to bring your VIP Pass with you to access the reserved parking on the Citadel campus near the McAlister Field House.

Disabled Guests Reserved Parking will be available to those who received a MUSC Disabled Guest Pass; you will need to bring your pass with you to access the reserved parking on the Citadel campus near the McAlister Field House.

OEM and College Commencement Staff 

Report to work as scheduled – Colbert Library Building Room 109 at 6:30 a.m. 

Ushers 

Report to work as scheduled – Colbert Library Building Room 109 at 6:30 a.m. Following the breakfast reception, transportation will be provided for the ushers from MUSC Jonathan Lucas Bus stop to the McAlister Field House and will leave MUSC at 8:30 a.m.

Candidate Marshals

All candidate marshals are responsible for their own transportation to the McAlister Field House. Candidate Marshals will need to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m.

Faculty

Transportation will be provided from MUSC Jonathan Lucas Bus stop to the McAlister Field House and will leave MUSC campus at 10:00 a.m.

Golden Graduates

Staff will be present to assist you. Transportation will be provided from your currently designated meeting site to the McAlister Field House following the breakfast reception.

Presidential Party (central administrators, deans, Board of Trustees, Grand Marshal, Presidential Marshals, Readers)

Breakfast will be served in the MUSC Colcock Hall Board room beginning at 8:15 a.m. Transportation will be provided from MUSC to the McAlister Field House and will leave MUSC campus at 10:00 a.m.
