A Constitutional Amendment 

The amending of the election process for Colleges of Graduate Studies, Health Professions, and Nursing.

Purpose: To amend the election process for the Colleges of Graduate Studies, Health Professions and Nursing representatives based on their graduation cycles.

Whereas: The majority of outgoing representatives will retain their voting powers and responsibilities through the end of the spring semester. This does not apply to the Colleges of Graduate Studies, Health Professions and Nursing, as they elect officers based on their graduation cycles. 

Be it enacted by the Medical University of South Carolina Student Government Association assembled in regular session the following:

That the Student Government Association Constitution be altered to read as follows:

Article II - Section 5 reads:

Representatives from all but the incoming freshman class should be elected/appointed in the spring. Outgoing representatives will retain voting power and responsibilities through the end of the spring semester, except for Graduate Studies, which elects a new GSA in the summer.

Outgoing representatives will retain voting power and responsibilities through the end of the spring semester, except for Graduate Studies, Health Professions, and Nursing, which elect new officers according to their graduation cycles.
