Video Distribution Services No matter who you want your video message to get to, Video Services can deliver that message. With our satellite reception system Video Services we can downlink satellite teleconferences from around the world and send them across the campus for your group to view. We also have the ability to distribute local live or taped programming to single or even multiple locations around the campus. For example, we can (and have) feed the same signal to the Basic Sciences Auditorium, Baruch Auditorium, 2 West Amphitheater and onto the MUHA cable system. Campus Distribution System Through our campus wide distribution system, originating in the Video Services facilities in the Basic Sciences Building, we are able to distribute programming to and from most of the major classrooms and auditoriums on the MUSC campus. Many of the smaller rooms scattered throughout the campus are also capable of receiving our signals. Call to see if there is one convenient for your needs. Statewide Distribution Using our full time multi-channel microwave link to the SCETV Center in Columbia, Video Services can distribute programming from the MUSC Campus to the SCETV Digital Satellite System. This system covers all of South Carolina with broadcast quality video reception sites in 1,500 locations across the state. Many of these locations are in educational institutions, healthcare facilities or health related state agencies. National and International Distribution Also through our microwave link, we offer the capability to distribute video to almost any location in the nation or the world. We can access the C Band and Ku Band satellite uplinks at SCETV and Clemson and through single or multiple “hops” reach any point that has a satellite downlink. There is a charge for this service and it can be quite expensive but since the system is mostly state owned and operated the costs are much lower than a commercial facility would charge.
