Department of Family Medicine Faculty Development
We are pleased to announce the start of a new Faculty Development Program in the Department of Family Medicine for the academic year of 2012-2013.
The overall purpose of the program is to encourage excellence in practice, teaching and research at the Medical University of South Carolina, and to do so in ways that respond to individual faculty needs, department priorities, and overall MUSC strategic goals. The Faculty Development Program will provide assistance to each faculty member to reach his/her individual academic goals, through the use of seminars, procedural teaching, and individual mentoring. Some of the topic areas for the coming year include teaching skills, academic advancement and promotion, and new procedural skills.
Our overall mission is to improve the health of South Carolinians and promote excellence in training of family physicians by developing and improving the skills of the faculty. This program will be led by our Associate Chair for Academic Affairs: Lori Dickerson, Pharm D, and the Faculty Development Coordinator, Svetlana Chirina.
