Raymond Greenberg, M.D., Ph.D.
President of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC)
Dr. Raymond Greenberg is the president of the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Greenberg graduated from the University of North Carolina with highest honors in chemistry, completed his medical studies at Duke University and received a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. Dr. Greenberg also undertook pediatric training at the Boston Children's Hospital prior to returning to the University of North Carolina for a PhD in epidemiology.
Dr. Greenberg later joined the faculty of Emory University where he conducted cancer research and became the first dean of the School of Public Health. Prior to becoming the eighth president of MUSC, Dr. Greenberg served as the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. While nationally recognized for his cancer research, Dr. Greenberg has also authored nearly 150 scientific publications. Additionally, Dr. Greenberg is an active participant on several national scientific advisory boards as well as in the local arts community.
