About the College of Graduate Studies

Established in 1965, the College of Graduate Studies educates highly sought-after biomedical and behavioral scientists at master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral levels. Some 1,684 alumni employ advanced degrees as leaders in academe, government and research. Nearly 500 graduate faculty teach and/or mentor over 200 students currently in one of at least 30 research areas.

Past and Present

Since 1949 the College of Graduate Studies has educated hundreds of biomedical research scientists. In October of 2011, the college offices moved into new quarters in the Bioengineering Building. At that time a physical exhibit was installed to commemorate the history of the college as well as to highlight current programs and individuals. This online exhibit is an expanded version of the physical exhibit.
