International Scholars Orientation Program
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs has initiated a program for international postdoctoral scholars. This workshop is designed to make you a more productive researcher by facilitating a better understanding of the scientific culture in the United States. The workshop addresses how to approach difficult conversations and promotes a general awareness of critical issues surrounding scientific conduct in the United States. One of the highlights is a panel discussion with international faculty at MUSC who share their personal experiences of adjusting to the research environment in the US.
All international postdocs appointed August 1, 2008 or later are required to attend this workshop. The program will be held over three mornings (8:30 AM to noon); attendance on all three mornings is mandatory.
The 2010 dates for this workshop are:
July 26th, 27th, and 30th
November - Dates TBD
If you or your mentor have any questions feel free to contact our office by phone (792-1067) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We look forward to meeting each of you and learning more about the research practices in your homeland.
