Upcoming Events for 2013

Summer 2013 events for incoming students

Come find us at any of the MUSC Student Activities Fairs or Orientations throughout the Summer! We encourage anyone potentially interested to stop by and sign up for our e-mail list and look forward to hearing updates from all of our returning members. We will have at the table our new buttons for anyone interested! More detailed information on the time and location of these events coming soon as details become available!

Wednesday, September 11: Monthly Meeting

Wednesday, September 11 at 12 noon in EL 102 will be our first monthly meeting in which we will discuss our plans for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. Lunch will be provided for the first 25 attendees.  We welcome everyone new and returning to join us. As always we encourage our straight allies to attend any and all events. Subsequent monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month in EL 102.

Wednesday, September 25: Coffee Talk

Our first Coffee Talk of the year will be at 5 PM on Wednesday, September 25 in Gazes 125. Coffee talks are informal round table discussions where we often bring a guest speaker in from the community to address a GLBT topic on medicine and social issues. Coffee talks are held on the last Wednesday of every month at Gazes auditorium located at 114 Doughty street. Guest speakers from past years included Shane Snowden from the Human Rights Campaign, Dr. O'Kennon on LGBT Mental Health Maintenace, Melissa Moore from We Are Family, Mark Jones, a historian and author who runs Black Cat Tours, Tom Robinson of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, members of South Carolina Equaliy and the Charleston School of Law, and insight from our own members on being Gay in the match. We thank all of our past speakers and look forward to another equally exciting line up of speakers for this upcoming school year.
