2010 Annual Benefits Enrollment
Employees are encouraged to read the 2010 Insurance Advantage to learn about plan changes, premium increases and benefit updates.
Employees will make changes to their insurance benefits through My Benefits , the website administered by the Employee Insurance Program, a division of the SC Budget and Control Board.
Employees will re-enroll in Medical Spending and Dependent Care Accounts through My FBMC , the website administered by Fringe Benefits Management Company (FBMC).
| Annual Enrollment is from October 1 - October 31, 2010. All premium and plan changes are effective January 1, 2011. | ||
| During the 2010 Annual Enrollment you may make the following changes: |
| -Change health insurance plan (i.e. Standard to CIGNA) |
| -Add/drop the vision plan for yourself or dependents |
| -Enroll/increase up to $50,000 of employee optional term life insurance, in $10,000 increments, without medical evidence of good health* |
| -Enroll/increase spouse term life insurance for $10,000 or $20,000 without medical evidence of good health** |
| -Decrease/cancel optional or dependent life insurance |
| -Enroll/re-enroll in Medical Spending or Dependent Care Accounts (required annually) |
| -Special Enrollment from Oct 1 - Dec 31, 2010: dependent children under the age of 26 may be added to health, dental and/or vision if not currently enrolled in a state insurance plan and are not eligible for insurance through another employer*** |

The University and Medical Center Benefit Offices will be holding the Annual Benefits Fair on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm around |
*employees may increase life insurance up to $500,000 during Enrollment with approval of medical evidence.
**spouse life insurance cannot exceed 50% of the employee's coverage, or $100,000, whichever is less (exception: an employee without coverage or elects $10,000, $20,000 or $30,000 can enroll spouse in $10,000 or $20,000
