State Specifications:
General Nature of Work:
Provides technical and professional services in a program area of a state agency.
Guidelines for Class Use/Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is the class for entry-level and developmental-level professional work that is performed to accomplish the agency's primary mission. This class is also used for employees who are fully capable of performing the less technical or specialized professional service delivery duties.
Examples of Work:

Provides assistance in the establishment of new programs or the modification of existing programs.
Conducts surveys and studies of problems and needs; makes recommendations to appropriate officials.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the status of assigned program area(s).
Reviews, evaluates and reports on assigned program area.
Provides technical assistance to staff, management, the public and other governmental entities.
Takes and processes routine program requests from customers.
Supervises employees as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
A high school diploma and two years relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
