Aquatic Facilitiesimage of man swimming laps

Swimming is a cool and refreshing total body cardiovascular exercise involving all major muscle groups, providing toning and conditioning for the entire body. The MUSC Wellness Center's junior Olympic-size pool offers seven lap lanes for uninterrupted swimming throughout the day as well as an open shallow end for water sports and aerobics. Badu Jets allow members the option of stationary swimming as well. Whirlpool benches with bubble jets are a fantastic mode of relaxation and a nice reward after a workout.

A pool attendant is on duty at all times to answer questions and concerns. All rules and regulations are posted in the pool area, please swim at your own risk. Maximum depth of the pool is four feet, therefore the "No Diving" rule is strictly enforced. Pool and air temperature is kept at a comfortable 84 degrees, repectively. Lap lanes are open all day; one pool length equals 25 meters and 32 laps equals one mile.

The Hotline is available for daily information on pool temperature, chemical levels, aerobic classes and special events.
