Dr. Hong Receives DDRCC Pilot Funding
Dr. Feng Hong was awarded a MUSC Digestive Diseases Research Core Center (DDRCC) Pilot & Feasibility Study Program Grant. Dr. Feng Hong hypothesizes that CNPY2 is a critical positive regulator for phospholipid biosynthesis in liver, which is required for ER stress-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). He proposes two specific aims: 1) Determine whether CNPY2 is required for phospholipid metabolism in the liver and 2) Determine the molecular mechanism by which CNPY2 regulates choline kinase under ER stress condition.
