Research Interest:

I am interested in arctic marine mammal health. My research is  focused on perfluorinated compounds, which are emerging environmental contaminants; the characterization and quantification of these compounds, and well as the identification of potential diseases in three otariid pinniped species, the northern fur seal, Stellar sea lion, and California sea lion. I am also interested in global  transport of anthropogenic contaminants and their uptake into trophic food webs. Specifically, I am interested in marine cold water ecosystems, toxicology, marine pollution, and the ecology and morphology of marine mammals. I also have interests relating to marine natural products and algal speciation.
