Research
In our lab we are interested in identification and characterization of antimicrobial peptides in shrimp. Currently, we are working with the penaeidins and crustins; we are interested in these peptides at both the genomic and proteomic levels, including gene structure, modifications, antimicrobial activity, protein structure, localization within the animal, and what roles these immune effectors play in the innate immune system.
