Research Interest:
Broadly I’m interested in how the environment and our exposure to environmental contaminants affect human health. I have a specific interest in how fetal and early life exposure to compounds known as obesogens can impact adult onset of obesity. I plan to take a comparative biology approach to investigate this topic, using stem cells lines as a surrogate for fetal growth from the American alligator, pygmy sperm whale and human. I’m also interested in DNA methylation and how it may play a role in the obesogen mechanism of action.
