Welcome to Charleston

The Medical University of South Carolina is located in Charleston, SC. Our program is committed to the training of tomorrow's leading pulmonary specialists. A city like no other with truly something for every interest, Charleston is a treasure of more than 300 years of American history.

How to get here

Charleston is easy to get to by car.  The city is located on the South Carolina coast at the eastern end of Intestate-26, which connects with I-20, I-85, I-40, I-77 and I-95.

The Charleston International Airport ( has more than 100 daily flights available from the following airlines:

Amtrak also has regular passenger service to the Charleston area.

Our weather

Visitors and residents alike find the weather in Charleston delightful.  Our average annual temperature is 65O F, which reflects our semi-tropical climate.  Winters are typically mild and summers are very warm and humid.
