Rahul Argula, M.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Argula was born in Hyderabad, India. He completed his medical schooling further south in the coastal town of Puducherry, at JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research).  After graduating from medical school, he moved to Houston, TX to pursue a Master’s degree in public health at the UT school of Public Health, focusing on Epidemiology and Biostatistics.  He then completed a residency in internal medicine at MUSC, and following this, completed his fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care also at MUSC.  In 2013, he joined the faculty at MUSC with an interest in COPD and Pulmonary Vascular Disease. His research interests include COPD, Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for advanced emphysema, Imaging based biomarkers in lung disease and Pulmonary physiology.

Clinical interests: COPD, Pulmonary hypertension, Pulmonary Vascular Disease

Research interests: Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction in advanced emphysema, Imaging based biomarkers in lung disease, Pulmonary physiology.

Dr. Tatsiana Beiko awarded the 2014 CHEST Foundation and Alpha-1 Foundation Clinical Research Grant in COPD and alpha-1 Antitrypsin (AAT) Deficiency

Third year fellow, Dr. Tatsiana Beiko, has been awarded the 2014 CHEST Foundation and Alpha-1 Foundation Clinical Research Grant in COPD and alpha-1 Antitrypsin (AAT) Deficiency. She will be accepting this award in person at the CHEST 2014 Opening Ceremony on October 27, 2014.

Dr. Alice Boylan Named
2014 Outstanding Clinician

Dr. Alice Boylan has received the 2014 MUSC Foundation Outstanding Clinician Award. The award was presented to her at the 2014 Faculty Convocation on August 19th.
