Early Detection is Key to Survival Rate of Melanoma

Almost every hour, one American dies of melanoma; yet, early detection can raise the five-year survival rate to 99 percent. In its fourth year, the "I Will Reflect" Melanoma Awareness Initiative sponsored by The Spa at Charleston Place and the Medical University of South Carolina continues to spread awareness about the dangers of melanoma and educate the community on skin cancer prevention.
