MUSC Patient Satisfaction Score Tops in South Carolina
Hospital Compare is a survey created by the Centers for Medicare, Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Health and Human Services, and other members of the Hospital Quality Alliance: Improving Care Through Information (HQA). The tool provides information on how well hospitals care for patients with certain medical conditions or surgical procedures, and results from a survey of patients about the quality of care they received during a recent hospital stay.
The most recent survey from Dec. 17, 2008, found that almost 80% of MUSC hospital patients surveyed responded favorably to the question "Would you recommend the hospital to friends and family." This score was the highest positive response of any SC hospital in the survey. Clearly, the efforts made by every sector in the hospital to improve the quality of care at MUSC are reflected in this outstanding patient satisfaction score. Well done, MUSC!
