Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kathryn M. Magruder as Director of the Office of Research Integrity effective August 1, 2010.

Dr. Magruder is currently a tenured Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and a Research Health Science Specialist at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.

Dr. Magruder obtained her Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and joined us at MUSC in 1999 after serving at Duke University and the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Magruder is an active investigator with extensive experience in human subjects research, Institutional Review Boards and Medical Ethics.

The Office of Research Integrity is a key underpinning of our research mission.
