Dr. Mark DeLegge, Director
Digestive Disease Center

The Digestive Disease Center

The Digestive Disease Center is internationally and nationally renowned for its work in endoscopic and surgical medical device development, new technology evaluation, and comparative research regarding gastrointestinal, endoscopic and surgical interventions. A state of the art animal facility, a partnership with the Clemson bioengineering department, a quality research staff and a very experienced physicians group have allowed new technologies to either be developed or trialed at the Medical University of South Carolina. From “no scar” surgery, to mini-endoscopic evaluation of the pancreaticobiliary system to endoscopic revision of gastric bypass surgery the DDC sets the pace for cutting edge patient evaluations and therapies. The Digestive Disease Center brings all this international and national experience to the Charleston, SC area. “Patients first always” is the DDC’s guiding mission.
