Day of Caring Kicks Off TUW Campaign
At the Medical University of South Carolina, we have earned a reputation for caring about the communities where we live and work. As the fall season begins, we have another opportunity to demonstrate our community spirit and leadership through the 2009 Trident United Way Campaign.
The campaign kicked off on Friday September 11th, with 112 MUSC employees volunteering their time for Trident United Way’s Day of Caring. The Day of Caring provides an opportunity for people to volunteer at nonprofit organizations throughout the community. This year, 6,200 volunteers registered to help with 351 projects in the tri-county area, making Trident United Way’s Day of Caring the largest in the country. There couldn’t be a better way to start the 2009 fundraising campaign!
Trident United Way is different from other organizations because of the broad cross-section of local volunteers who decide how your contributions will be distributed across the tri-county area. Committees of volunteers allocate funds to support the following areas of need: promoting health and wellness, creating economic stability, nurturing young people, responding to basic needs, and supporting senior citizens. MUSC has teamed up with Trident United Way to build a stronger Lowcountry for more than ten years.
It is important to note that you can designate your gift to any 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, including the MUSC Foundation. When you make a gift to the 2009 Trident United Way Campaign, you can earmark it for the MUSC program.
The Office of Development strongly encourages you to consider making a gift to the 2009 Trident United Way Campaign. Even a small donation makes a big impact! We are very proud of the past support our employees have given to Trident United Way. Your support will enable us to reach our goal: $220,000. The campaign ends on December 15th, so please send in your gift today!
