Dr. Smith received his Honors B.A. from the University of Delaware and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University. He completed his internship and postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina's National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVC). After a three-year stay on the faculty of the University of Arkansas Department of Psychology, he returned to the NCVC as Director of Training. He currently serves as Co-Director and Coordinator of Clinical Training for the Psychology Internship program. Dr. Smith is also Associate Director of the Medical University of South Carolina's Office of Gender Equity, and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development in MUSC’s College of Medicine. Within the internship, he provides direct clinical supervision in the NCVC Family and Child Clinic and frequently serves as a research preceptor.
