Residents are offered a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, life, long term disability, and long term care insurance. In addition, residents are eligible to participate in one of the two retirement plans offered by the SC Retirement Systems. Details are available on the GME Office website (see link above) and the Human Resources website: http://academicdepartments.musc.edu/vpfa/hrm/benefits/residents.htm

Additional Institutional and Departmental Benefits

• Annual medical licensing fees paid
• Membership to the American Academy of Neurology paid
• Monthly food allowance ($50/month plus $15 per 24-hour call)
• Complimentary membership to Student Wellness Center (Fitness/Gym)
• Complimentary lab coats and laundry service
• Book fund of $500/year
• Travel funds for one national meeting during the course of residency training (max. $2000).  Additional funds may be provided at the Chair’s discretion if the resident is to present at a conference.
• Parking fees are subsidized (Department pays 50%)
• Coffee and bagels provided for Morning Report
