The Neurobiology of Addiction Research Center (NARC)
Seminars & Events
The NARC offers bimonthly seminars in collaboration with the other two addiction research centers that focus on basic and clinical research in addiction. The speakers are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in the field of addiction. Prior to each seminar there is a journal club meeting that discusses selected works of the speaker. In addition, there are updates for the lay public on the biology and clinical treatment of addiction.
In addition to this web page, there are other websites maintained in part by the NARC to provide the most up to date information on addiction, clinical trials and various help lines (buttons). Finally, as part of brain awareness week NARC faculty partake in special teaching sessions in primary schools in the Charleston area.
