Translational Research Unit (TRU)
The Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery realized that in order to grow, it would be critical to provide researchers with an infrastructure that would supply the nonscientific aspects of clinical research development and implementation. In the early stages of the creation of the Translational Research Unit (TRU), the services were limited to the formation of a small core of coordinators that would serve multiple clinical researchers. The creativity of the TRU, however, grew at a very fast pace. Today the TRU not only includes a shared pool of coordinators, but also financial, recruitment, regulatory and grant editing assistance.
The mission of the TRU is to enhance clinical and translational research in the area of Neurosciences (Neurology & Neurosurgery). We will accomplish this mission by providing core structural services. These services will facilitate the receipt of new clinical or translational awards and aid in the operational management of those projects.
