Nurse Administrator Program Benefits
This online graduate program focuses on the acquisition of administrative knowledge and skill in the areas of health care economy and informatics, as well as the leadership, managerial and collaborative abilities necessary to contribute to the solution of contemporary health care challenges. Nurse executives and managers have a vital role in the economic and administrative viability of organizations and are directly involved with the implementation of the new technologies and clinical interventions. The Nurse Administrator program will provide our graduates with the leadership, knowledge and skills to insure they become integral members of the health care team in an increasingly complex care environment. Graduates who meet the practice requirements will have the academic credentials necessary to write the ANCC Certification Examination. The Nurse Administrator faculty include experts in informatics, systems and organizational design as well as other areas critical for nurses working inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Support courses for the major in the newly updated program include Behavioral Health Therapeutics, Epidemiology and others that reflect the expanded role of the nurse manager and administrator. Career opportunities for nurses with a master of nursing degree in nursing administration include but are not limited to Nurse Manager, Chief Nursing Officer, Program Administrator, Case Manager, Staff Education Specialist and Quality Improvement Coordinator. Admission Options Registered nurses (RN) with a BSN degree are admitted to the Masters Program and graduate with a MSN.
