RN - MSN (Admission suspended) Program Benefits The RN-MSN program is an alternate entry option for registered nurses with an associate's degree in nursing or diploma in nursing to obtain their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Prerequisites Applicants to this alternate entry program must have a 3.0 GPA (grade point average) and a GRE score of 1000 (500 verbal and 500 quantitative). After the completion of 60 semester hours of prerequisite course work with a "C" or better, degree requirements can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis, but they must be completed within five years of enrollment in the College of Nursing. Students in this degree program earn only the MSN degree, bypassing the BSN. Program Requirements Once accepted into the program, each student is assigned an advisor and students must apply for a specific track. In addition to the graduate curriculum, RN-MSN students must take the two undergraduate courses at the beginning of their studies: NURSU 371 Health Assessment and Promotion in Nursing Practice and NURSU 409 Population Focused Nursing Care.
