The College of Nursing Alumni Association recognizes academic excellence at each Convocation. A College of Nursing Alumni Pin is presented to a BSN and MSN student who has exemplified academic excellence (a 3.5 GPA or better), a history of leadership, outstanding clinical skills, and an interest in promoting the nursing profession. Congratulations to the 2008-2009 recipients Jamie Gilligan (RN-BSN), Ashley Bath (BSN December), Zerlinna Shannon (BSN May), Teresa Atz (MSN December), and Jessica Shuford (MSN May). The Class of December 2009 will celebrate their Convocation on Saturday, December 5, 10:00 am at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

About the College
Effective November 1, Teresa Kelechi will assume the role of Department Chair. Employed at MUSC for 22 years, Teresa joined the College of Nursing faculty in 2001. She is a board certified gerontological clinical nurse specialist and a certified wound care nurse. Teresa takes over the reins of Department Chair from Elizabeth Erkel who will retire at the end of the year.
