2010 Annual Homecoming and Silent Auction

The College of Nursing Alumni Board invites all alumni and their guests to participate

 in the 2010 Annual Homecoming and Silent Auction to be held April 10 at the Altman Center

on the campus of The Citadel. Donations for the Silent Auction are currently being solicited.

Congratulations to Ms. Caroline Counts, Ms. Emma Forkner, and Ms. Catherine Landis for being selected at the 2009 Outstanding Alumnus Award!

Nominations are currently being solicited for the 2010 Outstanding Alumnus Award. The alumni association encourages you to nominate MUSC degree holding alumni whose excellence in professional practice, community service, academic performance, leadership endeavors and other accomplishments merit special notice. If you would like to propose an alumnus for consideration for one of the alumni association's annual awards, please download a copy of the nomination form and send it to the MUSC Office of Alumni Affairs for forwarding to the College of Nursing Alumni Board.

Alumni Association Student Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to Erica Damico, Lee Horton, Devon Licari, Molly Lussier, and Bonnie Shepherd! Each student was awarded a $2000 scholarship from the College of Nursing Alumni Association at the Annual Homecoming. Proceeds from the Annual Homecoming Silent Auction support student scholarships.

Alumni Association Outstanding Student Award Recipients
The College of Nursing Alumni Association recognizes academic excellence at each Convocation. A College of Nursing Alumni Pin is presented to a BSN and MSN student who has exemplified academic excellence (a 3.5 GPA or better), a history of leadership, outstanding clinical skills, and an interest in promoting the nursing profession.

Congratulations to the 2008-2009 recipients Jamie Gilligan (RN-BSN), Ashley Bath (BSN December), Zerlinna Shannon (BSN May), Teresa Atz (MSN December), and Jessica Shuford (MSN May). The Class of December 2009 will celebrate their Convocation on Saturday, December 5, 10:00 am at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

Spotlight

Teresa Kelechi Named New Department Chair

Effective November 1, Teresa Kelechi will assume the role of Department Chair. Employed at MUSC for 22 years, Teresa joined the College of Nursing faculty in 2001. She is a board certified gerontological clinical nurse specialist and a certified wound care nurse. Teresa takes over the reins of Department Chair from Elizabeth Erkel who will retire at the end of the year.
