andersjg@musc.edu | | Jane Anderson joined the College of Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2007 as an instructor in the undergraduate program. She received an Associate Degree in Applied Science, Nursing at Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke Virginia, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Medical College of Virginia-Virginia Commonwealth University, and her Master of Science in Nursing in Advanced Adult Health with a Gerontological Certificate from Radford University. She is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gerontology. She is a member of the National Gerotonological Nursing Association and Sigma Theta Tau. | Ms Anderson has a diverse nursing history, working in orthopedics, general medical-surgical areas, and cardiovascular units. She was the clinical leader in an outpatient cardiac rehabilitation department for 7 years. As a gerontonological clinical nurse specialist for an ACE unit, Acute Care for the Elderly, she coordinated interdisciplinary care for acutely ill geriatric patients. She has taught in both associate and undergraduate degree nursing programs. Ms. Anderson's clinical and research interests are in improving clinical and functional outcomes for older adults and simulation in nursing education. |
