hortonl@musc.edu | | Lee Horton is presently the Director of the Nurse-Midwifery Program and an instructor at the College of Nursing. She is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who practices with the Medical University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and at Medical University’s Student Health Services providing Women’s Health. Ms. Horton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her Master of Science degree from Columbia University in the City of New York. She is certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives and by the Council of Childbirth Education Specialists of Greater New York as a certified childbirth educator. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives National and State Organization, Sigma Theta Tau National, and The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses National Organization. | Ms. Horton is presently a doctoral student and her study interest is planned behavioral change and the influence it may have regarding breastfeeding among indigent African American women. |
