MUSC's new exam grading system
(Still using Answer sheets A and B)

To better serve MUSC, Kristi Rodgers and our office are gradually phasing out the 30-year-old exam grading software and replacing it with a more flexible one.  Remark Classic OMR® 3.0 software from Gravic, Inc. scans and processes data from survey forms, tests and other scannable forms. The software, combined with an OMR reader, recognizes filled-in optical marks (bubbles) on scantron forms, which automates the data collection process.

Remark Classic 3.0  should be in place by July 1, 2008.  While Remark is up and ready to go, we feel that the transition be more smoothly pace over a whole semester than if we changed over all at once.

Remark is useful in many ways:

Professors can use the exact same answer sheets with the new system
(Red Answer Sheet A and Green Answer Sheet B)
Professors will be able to choose from several different reports which will suit their needs
Exam results can be emailed immediately following the scanning and grading
Exam results can be saved in many formats, including Excel, for easy importing
Results are provided just as quickly as before

Below is a list of this software's assets. Most are currently available.
Others will be added after Kristi learns to process them.
