Office of Institutional Resources and Research
About our Office
Welcome to the Office of Institutional Resources and Research . Our offices are located at 17 and 28 Ehrhardt Street. We report through our director, Dr. Andrew Gelasco, to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, Dr. Mark Sothmann.
Fulfillment of responsibilities requires our collaboration with college deans, university vice presidents and internal MUSC departments that support the missions of education, research and clinical care. Such responsibilities draw together
- strategic planning
- institutional research
- faculty resources
- facilities space planning and management.
We enhance collaboration of information across multiple levels of decision-making personnel within MUSC including representatives from all six health-related colleges.
Serving as the focal point of the current strategic planning for the academic health center, revising and assessing the goals of the university’s strategic plan and the integration of accomplishments into the planning and budgeting process are also duties we facilitate.
Lastly, we are charged with maintaining and storing university-level information needed to fulfill planning needs, as well as responsibility for responding to internal requests that support management decision-making and external requests relevant to governmental and commercial needs.
Some of the central university duties of Office of Institutional Resources and Research are to:
- Establish and maintain data and information related to facilities space planning and management, including building schematic floor plans and campus map.
- Establish and manage leasing agreements for the entire Academic Medical Center.
- Be responsible for the digital repository for all faculty appointments and promotions.
- Oversee the completion of mandatory state, federal and accreditation reporting of postsecondary education information requests.
